Richards Bulldogs

Little Bulldog Preschool

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM:

The Preschool is part of a yearlong course (Early Childhood Education) offered to high school students who are interested in working with young children.  Each high school student prior to being admitted to this course will have completed a Child Developmental Theory Course called Child Care and Parenting.  Under the direction of the child care teacher, the high school students plan and present lessons and activities to preschool children.

PHILOSOPHY:

The preschool’s purpose is to provide an atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth and development of the child as a whole.  Planned within the framework of the philosophy and purpose, the Richards Preschool Curriculum includes group conversation time, storytelling, songs, large motor development, art, science, social studies, math, manuscript and socio-dramatic play activities.

DAYS AND HOURS OF OPERATION:

The Richards Preschool Program typically begins the last week of September and will continue through the second week in December. The spring session is typically the first week of February through the first week of May.  We follow the public school calendar, closing for the same holidays and vacations as the high school.  Please be aware that the preschool calendar could change at the last minute due to a change in the high school class schedule.  The specific days for the spring session will be determined at a later date.  The time schedule is as follows: Tuesday 9:00-11:25 AM, Thursday 9:00-11:25 AM, Friday 9:00-11:25 AM.
