Diversity in Education 672
Learn how to create a welcoming learning environment that respects all people. You will learn how to incorporate diverse cultures into the classroom and gain an understanding/reflect on how your identity, beliefs, and biases influence your teaching style and methods. We will look at education with a global perspective with the goal of showing how you can support your students in a world that is interconnected through its diversity. You will learn how to advocate for your future students within a school community.

Teaching Internship 679
This course is designed to provide students with a “hands on” opportunity to explore a career in education. Students are placed with a cooperating teacher in a primary, intermediate, middle school, or high school for two hours a day, four days a week. Students will be focused on using technology for education and teaching. One day a week the interns remain at their home school to reflect, discuss experiences, share insights, and problem solve with one another.
- This is a double period, one semester course typically spring semester of senior year.
