Senior Lock-In Cancellation

Due to the lack of participation, we have decided to cancel the event.  Any student who has already purchased a ticket will receive a refund.  Refund checks will be issued to the student’s parent and will be mailed home later this week.  

 

Arab American Heritage Spirit Week

The Arabic Heritage & Cultural Club is sponsoring a spirit week with activities for all to enjoy this week in honor of Arab American Heritage Month!  Below is a list of activities for each day (all activities will occur during the lunch periods):

Monday 4/22 - Have your name written in Arabic!

Tuesday 4/23 - Watch students perform cultural dances from Arab countries!

Wednesday 4/24 - Taste test samples of food and drink from the Arab World!

Thursday 4/25 - Get a henna tattoo on your hand or get a flag painted on your face!

Friday 4/26/ - Finale!!!!

  • Wear Arab cultural clothing or an Arabic t-shirt
  • Answer trivia questions to win prizes
  • Sing and clap along with our Arabic students as they sing songs celebrating their culture 

 

Prom Fashion Show

The Fashion & Beauty Pack is happy to announce their second annual Prom Fashion Show on Monday, April 22nd during all lunch periods!!! This year’s event will be sponsored by Elegant Couture Dress Shop in Palos Heights & Boss Formalwear in Evergreen Park, IL.

* All students with a valid school ID will receive a 10% discount on all in stock dresses from Elegant Couture!

*Boss Formalwear is having their Prom Promo now: Suit rentals from $160 to $180.

 

Prom Ticket Sale

This year’s Prom, Midnight Masquerade, will be held on Friday, May 17 from 7:00-11:00 pm at the Museum of Science & Industry.  Tickets will cost $125 per person.  Prom ticket sales began on April 22 and conclude on May 3.  You will be able to purchase tickets either online or in person in the Activities Office.  Any junior or senior planning to attend the event must have their school fees paid in full prior to purchasing tickets.  All guests attending prom must complete the Prom Contract.  Copies are located outside the Activities Office.

 

Ceramics Art Class

Art Club is hosting a ceramics art class on Wednesday, April 24 from 4:00-5:00 pm. Cost is $5.  You can register online.  Make your own garden markers by exploring stamping, rolling, and decorating clay! Before you leave, mix and match our pre-made plantable clay hearts which are filled with your choice of garden herb seeds and wildflowers. Project will be available to pick up the following week!  

 

Chipotle Fundraiser

On Wednesday, April 24, the National Honor Society will host a Chipotle Fundraiser from 4-8 pm at the store located at 11018 S. Cicero Avenue in Oak Lawn.  NHS will receive 25% of the sales.  Any purchases made in store or online for pick-up during that time will help support our organization.  Make sure to show this ad (printed or on your smartphone) or tell the cashier you are supporting Richard High School NHS prior to paying.  If you are placing your order online, use code VP8KDFF before checkout in the “promo” field.  Orders placed on Chipotle.com or through the Chipotle app for pickup using this unique code will be counted towards the fundraiser. However, make sure the order is placed for the correct location and time period.

 

Anastasia Tickets

The Richards Music Department will present the musical, Anastasia, on May 9-11 at 7:00 pm.  Tickets cost $12 each and can be purchased online or at the door.

 

Summer Employment Opportunity

Chicago Ridge Park District is hiring for the summer.  Positions are available for Seasonal Supervisors ($16/hr) and Seasonal Support Staff ($14/hr).  Applications are available on their website or at Frontier Fieldhouse.

 

AP After School Tutoring & Study Sessions

AP After school tutoring and study sessions are now available every Wednesday after school from 3:20-4:20 pm in the LRC.  Come to meet with an AP study group, get tutoring from an AP teacher (content tutored will vary per week) or just come for a quiet place to study with other AP students.

 

K & G Student Discount

When making a purchase at any K & G store, mention HL Richards High School at checkout for a 10% discount.  The school will also receive 10% of your purchase! 

 

Class of 2024 Yard Signs & Banners  

Student Council is selling custom yard signs and vinyl banners.  They can be personalized with your graduate’s name and their college/career tech school or military branch.  Signs must be ordered online by Friday, May 10, 2024 and will be delivered to students at the mandatory graduation practice on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
