Respect & Kindness Week

Bulldog Buddies & Leo Club has organized Respect & Kindness Week this week!  Join in the fun of the spirit week and the special events happening during each day!

      Monday - No School

      Tuesday - Wear white to support students with vision impairments

                       Sign the inclusion pledge during your lunch period in the cafe

      Wednesday – Wear green to support students with traumatic brain injuries

                             Visit the High 5 Pop Up Shop to purchase your 2024 Respect shirt!

      Thursday - Wear blue/orange to support students with sensory processing  

                        Disorders.  Write a thank you and purchase a kindness button 

                        during your lunch period in the cafe.

      Friday - Wear your respect shirt or black & gold!  Make a poster during lunch 

                    to cheer on our Unified Basketball team at today’s assembly.


Prom Theme Voting

Voting for the 2024 Prom theme is now open online through Monday, March 4 at 3:15 pm. 


Prom Fundraiser

Any junior or senior who is planning to attend prom is invited to participate in the Krispy Kreme Prom Fundraiser to raise money for their own prom ticket.  This will kick off on March 4thForms and money are due to the Activities Office no later than Friday, March 15th.  Product pick up will take place on Wednesday, March 20th from 3:15-4:00 pm.  Forms are available outside the Activities Office or online


Register to Vote

The Women’s South Suburban Legislative Committee will be at Richards during all lunch periods on Tuesday, March 5 to get students registered to vote.  Students must be 18 by election day in November and provide a state ID or driver’s license to register.


ELL Community Event

The ELL Department will be hosting a Community Outreach event on Thursday, March 7 from 5:00-8:00 pm in the cafeteria.  Parents, students and families are invited to learn about resources available to them in the community as well as make crafts, play games and win prizes.  There will even be freshly made kanafa available!


Blood Drive

The National Honor Society will be hosting the Spring Blood Drive on Tuesday, March 12 from 10:00 am - 2:30 pm in the lobby of the PAC.  You can register to donate online.


Pie in the Face Fundraiser

Rotary Interact will be hosting a Pie-in-the-Face Fundraiser to raise monies for Ronald McDonald House.  Stop by the table in the cafe to place a donation in a staff member’s jar.  The staff member who raises the most will get a pie in the face on Pi Day - March 14! 


AP After School Tutoring & Study Sessions

AP After school tutoring and study sessions are now available every Wednesday after school from 3:20-4:20 pm in the LRC.  Come to meet with an AP study group, get tutoring from an AP teacher (content tutored will vary per week) or just come for a quiet place to study with other AP students.


K & G Student Discount

When making a purchase at any K & G store, mention HL Richards High School at checkout for a 10% discount.  The school will also receive 10% of your purchase! 


Class of 2024 Yard Signs & Banners  

Student Council is selling custom yard signs and vinyl banners.  They can be personalized with your graduate’s name and their college/career tech school or military branch.  Signs must be ordered online by Friday, May 10, 2024 and will be delivered to students at the mandatory graduation practice on Thursday, May 23, 2024. 


Senior Lock-In

The Senior Lock-in will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am on Saturday, April 27, 2024.  The cost is $30 per student which includes a t-shirt, food and fun!  Tickets can be purchased online or in the Activities Office.  All students must complete the Guest Contract prior to attending.  Contracts can be dropped off in the Activities Office.

If you would like to volunteer to chaperone that evening, you can sign up with SignUp Genius.  We are also looking for food donations that can be used for the event to help keep the event affordable for all.  If you’d like to donate a food item, please sign up with SignUp Genius.

The 2023-2024 Yearbook can be pre-ordered online for $65.  The last day to pre-order a yearbook is April 19.  We do not order extra yearbooks so please be sure to pre-order yours today.  Yearbook delivery will take place in July this year so that all spring sports and activities can make it into the yearbook.

Join in the fun as you learn about the community that surrounds Richards High School.  You will be rewarded with local discounts from each of the partner businesses listed on our Passport!


Class of 2024 Booster Club Award Information

This year the Boosters have made it even easier to apply for the Booster Senior Award.  With only 10 total hours of volunteer time at booster events you will be eligible to submit your essay and be eligible.  You can volunteer to sell at a concession stand, spiritwear stand, help with stocking supplies, set up/tear down at events etc.  Anywhere the Boosters need help, we will gladly accept and log your time with us.  

  • Is your schedule already packed with other volunteer activities, sports or clubs? You can have an adult family member volunteer in your place. 
  • Do you have to log volunteer hours for NHS, TRI M or another organization? We will let you log your work with us AND we will sign off as hours served for your other organization. It's like volunteering at 2 places at once

We are interested in helping you invest in your home at Richards as well as your future.
