Road Construction Alert
Starting Monday, September 30, 95th Street from I-294 to New England will be closed as work gets underway on the Harlem Avenue - I-294 cloverleaf.
Parent Square App Information

Bulldog Boosters Parent Help Needed
The Richards Booster Club is currently looking for volunteers to help with some of our upcoming events. If you are able to help, please take a look at the Boosters Sign Up genius page.
Game Night
Student Council & LGBTQIA+ Community & Allies is hosting a Game Night on Monday, October 7 from 3:15-5:00 pm in the LRC. Come out, have pizza and play games including participating in the Clue Tournament. Those that win the Clue Tournament will win free tickets to the fall play, Clue On Stage!
Open Gym
The Activities Department will be hosting Open Gym on Monday, October 7 from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Main Gym. This is a free student event. Students should enter through the cafeteria and show their student ID. Doors will close at 6:30 pm. We will have basketball, volleyball, yard games, a DJ, an inflatable and the weight room will be open. Bulldog Boosters will also have the concession stand open for snack purchases.
Get Ready for Fall Standardized Testing
Tuesday, October 8 is Digital Readiness Day! This is a full day of school with a specialized schedule to allow for students to perform the digital readiness check requirements necessary for the PreACT 8/9 and PreACT testing. Seniors will be receiving a presentation on post-secondary planning from their counselors during this time. Reminders: Students must have their iPads updated to iOS 17.3 and come to school with a fully charged device.
Thursday, October 10 is PreACT 8/9 and PreACT Testing Day! All 9th, 10th, and 11th graders will be testing. Senior students should utilize this day for post-secondary planning at home.
Reminders: This test is fully digital, so students need to come to school with a fully charged iPad. Students report to a specific testing room no later than 7:55 a.m. The pre-administration directions will begin promptly at 8:00 am.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Parents are encouraged to attend Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 10. There will be in-person conferences from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Main Gym and 6:00-8:00 pm will be virtual via Zoom. Through Skyward Family Access Parents/Guardians will be able to schedule virtual individual conferences between 6pm - 8pm and access the link for the virtual scheduled session. The Skyward Conference Scheduler will be open Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 8:00 am and close on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 3:00p.m. Each meeting will be approximately 8 minutes. It also is desirable for the students to be present during the conference. On the day of conferences, students will be dismissed at 11:00am.

Fall Play - Clue
The Richards Drama Department will present Clue Thursday, October 10 through Saturday, October 12 at 7:00 pm each night. Tickets are on sale now online for $10 each.
Picture Day Proofs & Discount

Mandatory Senior Class Meeting
There will be a mandatory senior class meeting on Tuesday, October 15 during lunches in the PAC regarding cap and gown ordering. Seniors should report directly to the PAC at the start of their lunch period.
Parent Advisory Council Meeting
All Richards parents are invited to attend the first Parent Advisory Council meeting this year on Tuesday, October 15 at 6:00 pm in the LRC.
Blood Drive
The Fall Blood Drive is scheduled for Thursday, October 24 from 9:00 am to 2:20 pm in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center. You can sign up to donate online. All students who donate must be at least 16 years of age and all students must get a parent consent form completed prior to their blood donation regardless of their age. Students will be excused from class during the time in which they donate.
Fall Craft Fair
Student Council will be hosting the Fall Craft Fair that features over 80 crafters/vendors on Saturday, October 26 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Main Gym. There is no entry fee. We ask all attendees to enter through Door S12. Stop by to get a head start on your holiday shopping and support our local vendors/crafters!
College & Career Fair
Community High School District 218 is hosting the annual College & Career Fair on Wednesday, October 30 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Administrative Center located at 10601 S. Kilpatrick Avenue in Oak Lawn. There will be over 150 colleges, technical schools and career professionals in attendance.
Haunted Halloween at Hollywood Park
Richards High School will be partnering with Hollywood Park located at 5051 Cal Sag Road in Crestwood to bring you Haunted Halloween on Thursday, October 31 (please note the date change) from 5:00-8:00 pm. This will be a free student event that includes the Halloween maze and mini-golf. They will keep their concession stand and games open for purchase. Please register online.
Bulldog Nation Themes
Join in the fun on Fridays and participate in the weekly Bulldog Nation spirit themes. Come to school dressed in the weekly theme on Friday!
