Class of 2025 Cap Decorating Party

Join us on Wednesday, April 30 from 3:30-5:30 pm in the Cafeteria to hang out with your friends and decorate your graduation cap.  Some supplies will be provided but feel free to bring your own too!  As a reminder, no caps can be 3-D when decorated.  All decorations must lie flat on the cap.

 

Decision Day

Join in the fun of Decision Day on Thursday, May 1st during lunch periods.  Share your future plans, wear your college, military or job shirt, take a photo at the photo booth and put your name in for raffles!

 

Prom Information

Prom will be held at the Museum of Science and Industry on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 7-11 pm. The last time students may enter prom is 8:00 pm and students must stay til at least 10:00 pm. Tickets will cost $140 per person. Students must have all school fees paid prior to being able to purchase their tickets. Prom Contracts are located outside the Activities Office and must be turned in regardless of whether you are bringing a guest or not. All prom information including the prom contract can be found here. Ticket sales will start on April 21, 2025. The last day to purchase tickets is Friday, May 2, 2025. No refunds will be given.

 

Class of 2025 Yard Signs

Student Council is selling custom yard signs. They can be personalized with your graduate’s name and their college/career tech school or military branch. Signs must be ordered online by Friday, May 9, 2025 and will be delivered to students at the mandatory graduation practice on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

 

Distinguished Teacher Award Nominations

Distinguished Teacher Award Nominations are open through May 2.  The Distinguished Teacher of the Year award honors an exemplary Richards teacher who makes a profound difference in the lives of their students and in their school community.  Your nomination must include a minimum of 2 paragraphs explaining how the nominee exemplifies the criteria listed above and why you feel they should receive this award.  Nominations can be submitted online.

 

Mamma Mia Musical

The Music Department will present the musical, Mamma Mia, June 5, 6, 7 at 7:00 pm in the Performing Arts Center.  Tickets cost $12 per person. Reserve your seats now online or you can purchase tickets at the box office the day of the event.

 

Summer School Registration

Summer school registration will open on Monday, January 13 and close on Friday, May 16.  Click here for summer school information.  The cost is $50 per course and you can pay and register online.

 

K & G Fashion Prom Discount

K & G Fashion Superstore will offer our students a 10% discount this season.  To claim the discount, just mention that you are from Harold L. Richards High School.  

 

Prom Dress & Tuxedo Discount For Students

Elegant Couture Prom Dress Shop located at 12236 South Harlem Avenue in Palos Heights is offering all students a $25 gift card to use towards their prom purchase.  To receive the gift card, students must show their current school ID at checkout. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to save and find your perfect prom look! 

 

Tree Machine Green Raiser

Science Club is sponsoring our Tree Machine fundraiser.  They will be collecting donations of clothing, shoes, accessories, and linens.  Simply put your donations in a bag and drop them in the green and white Tree Machine bin which is located in the parking lot across from the tennis courts.  It’s a great way to clean your closets and support the Richards Science Club!

 

Class of 2025 Graduation VIP Experience Raffle

The Richards Scholarship Committee has organized a raffle for a Graduation VIP Experience.  Winner would receive six graduation tickets, six reserved VIP seats in a private, roped-off section and two dedicated VIP parking spots near the ceremony entrance.  10 Entries cost $25, 30 entries cost $50 and 75 entries cost $100.  Contest ends on Sunday, March 30, 2025 and the winner will be announced on Monday, April 7, 2025.  All proceeds will benefit the HLR Scholarship Fund which awards current students with post-secondary scholarships.  All entries can be purchased online.
