Gold Nation A Cappella Ensemble

Meeting Dates/Times:  We meet every Monday after school from 4-6PM OR from 6-8PM. (The time we decide to meet will depend on who is in the group and what other activities/sports they are participating in at the time.) If approved by school administration, we hope to meet in-person at school following all state, local, and district safety guidelines including masks, socially-distanced rehearsals, air-purifiers in all rehearsal rooms, breaks between singing after every 30 minutes, and rehearsals in sectionals with smaller groups of students. During times of competitions, we will often meet two times a week in order to perform at our highest level. (2nd Semester)

What do we do? Mission and Goals:  We perform a cappella music. (Think Pitch Perfect, Pentatonix, or Straight No Chaser). For first semester, we will plan our upcoming music set and begin learning the music for the season with the hopes of attending competitions and festivals if it becomes safe to do so. We will work towards these performances or virtual choir performances with our music. We also hope to be able to perform for the school and in the local community. We will work to recruit new members to the choir program through our performances.

How do I join?  Students must audition with Mr. Hammann by sending a video of yourself singing 45s-1min. Of a song of your choice A Cappella. (no instrumentals or karaoke tracks...just your voice). Mr. Hammann will judge you on your tone, control of your voice, style, ability to blend with others in the group and balance. While we had auditions in May, there are some still spots left in our group. Contact Mr. Hammann if you have questions. You must submit your audition materials to Mr. Hammann by Friday, October 2nd.
