Prom Information

Attention all students attending Prom!  Prom will be held on Friday, May 16 at the Museum of Science and Industry.  All attendees must present a photo ID at check in along with their ticket which was sent to your school email account.  Check-in will begin at 7:00 pm.  No student will be admitted into prom after 8:00 PM and no one is allowed to leave prior to 10:00 PM.  Parking is free in the museum garage.  Drive all the way down to the green level to park.  Once you leave prom, you will not be readmitted.  If you are scheduled to take the Prom Bus downtown, you will need to meet the bus at Door S2 at school.  It will depart school promptly at 6:00 pm.  Anyone riding the bus downtown must return on the bus to school.  We still have spots available on the prom bus.  Complete the bus permission form and submit with payment to the Activities Office or Main Office.

 

Class of 2025 Yard Signs

Student Council is selling custom yard signs. They can be personalized with your graduate’s name and their college/career tech school or military branch. Signs must be ordered online by Friday, May 9, 2025 and will be delivered to students at the mandatory graduation practice on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

 

Pride Week

LGBTQIA+ Community & Allies is hosting Pride Week, May 12-16.  Join in the fun of the planned spirit week.

iPad Return for Seniors

Attention Seniors and Early Grads iPad return will take May 14-20 during all lunch periods outside of the Activities Office. If you are missing anything please stop by and talk to tech at the return table. At that time you will be notified of your iPad fees. If your iPad isn't returned by the 20th, you will not receive tickets to graduation. 

 

Dance Tryouts

Tryouts for the Dance Team for the 2025 football and homecoming season will take place on Tuesday, May 13th and Wednesday, May 14th from 3:30-6:30 pm on the Gym Stage.  Wear dance shoes and comfortable clothing.  All students trying out must have a current physical on file in the Athletic Office.

 

Movie Night

LGBTQIA+ Community & Allies is hosting a Movie Night on Thursday, May 15 from 3:30-5:30 pm in Room 240.  They will be featuring the movie, The Half of It.  Free admission and popcorn!

 

Senior Sunset

The Class of 2025 is invited to the Senior Sunset on Wednesday, May 21 from 7:30-8:30 pm on Korhonen Field.  Bring a blanket and your friends to watch the sunset on the eve of graduation.  Rita’s Ice Truck will be on hand selling cool treats!

 

Summer School Registration

Summer school registration will open on Monday, January 13 and close on Friday, May 16.  Click here for summer school information.  The cost is $50 per course and you can pay and register online.

 

Mamma Mia Musical

The Music Department will present the musical, Mamma Mia, June 5, 6, 7 at 7:00 pm in the Performing Arts Center.  Tickets cost $12 per person. Reserve your seats now online or you can purchase tickets at the box office the day of the event.

 

CHSD218 Summer Theater Camp

The CHSD 218 Summer Theater Camp is open for all our current students as well as students attending one of our feeder middle schools/junior highs. This camp will run at Richards High School Mondays-Thursdays, June 9th-June 26th from 9:00 AM to noon. At this camp we will work on a production which we will stage at Richards on the evening of Friday, June 27th. This is a great opportunity for kids who like performance to make new friends, get acclimated to the activity and put on a show for the community.  Cost is $50 and is due the first day of camp.  Please register online.

 

K & G Fashion Prom Discount

K & G Fashion Superstore will offer our students a 10% discount this season.  To claim the discount, just mention that you are from Harold L. Richards High School.  

 

Prom Dress & Tuxedo Discount For Students

Elegant Couture Prom Dress Shop located at 12236 South Harlem Avenue in Palos Heights is offering all students a $25 gift card to use towards their prom purchase.  To receive the gift card, students must show their current school ID at checkout. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to save and find your perfect prom look! 

 

Tree Machine Green Raiser

Science Club is sponsoring our Tree Machine fundraiser.  They will be collecting donations of clothing, shoes, accessories, and linens.  Simply put your donations in a bag and drop them in the green and white Tree Machine bin which is located in the parking lot across from the tennis courts.  It’s a great way to clean your closets and support the Richards Science Club!
