bonjour, my name is Madame Denton and I teach French at Richards high school and I made this little video for you to get to know me a little bit in to see what your child should expect I teach French 3 and 80 so if your child takes French Ed Richards I am their teacher like I said my name is mud on Jensen I do sign my emails mmea because it's short for my. Denton at chsd218.org you can feel free to email me when you have questions concerns anything like that keeps Misha who am I I been teaching 20 years I love France I love French however I was terrible in French in high school so I understand how hard it is for the students to do I absolutely adore teaching the kids give me energy they still might they they are just such a delight to be around and so I am caring and passionate and genuine I have a daughter who's in eighth grade was going to be at Richards next year so I'm invested in the school even the school and I'm really excited to send her here next year so that's just a little about me many of you already know me so the zoom in Google classroom expectations set up lately I have had a bunch of kids who are laying in bed of the student space I even if it's late that's cool but I can't have this I can't have the video off for the whole call because then I don't know if they're there or paying attention or turn off the TV go to a quiet place please lately there's been an influx of kids who have been listening to their yelling TV makes it really difficult for everyone else one thing that I am Lil Bit strict on it's probably the only thing that I'm strict on is that if I ask you a question during the zoom called you need to answer in a reasonable amount of time the reason I say this is because many kids will just turn off their video turn off their mute mute and then Rockaway and go to other stuff that's not cool we don't want that so if they student does not answer a question within a reasonable amount of time I do stay over and I took them off the call in that is an unexcused absence for which they won't be allowed to make up work and I'm asking the kids speak French when I'm in the classroom I can hear what's going on but in the zoom cause I can only be in one breakout room at a time so I do want the kids to speak French even when I can't hear the probably might not some of them Olde Sycamore which means help I'm available for help is needed however if students are doing the work during class and they're participating 98% of the time they don't need because they get all the purchasing you during class so if something arises to wear assume doesn't emails the best way to get ahold of me you can also reach out through Google classroom and the app remind on go straight to my so there's a few ways to get ahold of me but again I don't assign homework to while we're on the topic I feel like the kids are on their iPads 5 hours a day that's quite enough and I would prefer. run or sit outside or have a conversation with their parents with real people and so the work that I assign I give enough time in class to do it if they choose not to that's fine they can do it later. My goal is for a 3:15 for them done for the day so please with my class I do offer office hours Wednesdays 2 to 3 p.m. the zoom link is on the slideshow and if you for whatever you think either way I'll get you all set special supplies needed just just a good attitude to themselves and each other I'm really looking forward to working with your kids I have loved them so far I'm really excited to see you all my two threes in a peas again too because I had them all last year some of them had for 3 years so it's fighting and I love what I do when your kids are so amazing and they make this job so wonderful so thank you very much
