I am very excited for the 2023-2024 school year!
My name is Mrs. Cleary, and I am a teacher in CHSD218's Family and Consumer Sciences department. Before I began teaching, I worked in many different capacities in the restaurant industry from serving, then catering, working as a chef, and eventually management. I have always loved to teach people new things, so moving into education was an easy transition!
I went to culinary school at Ivy Tech, earned my bachelor of science in education at Indiana University, and hold my master of arts in teaching from Morningside University in Iowa.
THE BORING STUFF:
As a licensed Illinois educator with an endorsement in Family and Consumer Sciences, I teach Foods and Nutrition, FACS, and Culinary Arts and sponsor a Junior Advisory group. I am endorsed in Elementary Education K-9, Special Education: Pre-K through age 21 (LBS1), High School Family and Consumer Sciences: Nutrition, Hospitality, and Wellness, Middle School Science, Middle School Family and Consumer Science, Middle School Social Science, Language Arts and Visual Art. I am also a certified Heartsaver CPR/AED instructor through Training Concepts and have my Servsafe Food Handler and Servsafe Allergen certifications.
