Profile

Social Worker for students with the last names H-O.

All students in Community High School District 218 are eligible to receive social work services. The social workers act as liaisons between the home and the school. Social workers provide individual and group counseling, parent education, and referrals to community agencies. Students, parents, or school personnel can request social work services. Most services provided in school are short-term. If a student requires long-term therapeutic services, the social worker will work with parents/guardians to locate appropriate community agencies.

Activities:
I am also a sponsor for the Peer Mediation Program which is a student led organization that works with students to resolve their conflicts peacefully. We will host an all day training in February to recruit and train  new mediators. Starting in January, announcements will be made regarding the upcoming training and where to get an application. If students have questions about the program they can come to room 128 or view the Peer Mediation webpage.
